How Our Templates Are Made
Every Book Design Templates interior is drawn by hand by a working book designer. No AI is used to create them. Since 2011 a working book designer has set each design the way a typesetter sets a book: choose the trim, balance the margins for the gutter, pair a text face with a display face and license both, place the chapter opener, set the running heads and the folios, then print it and look at it. Only after that does it become a file you can buy.
What you get is the file, not a service. It opens in Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, or Adobe InDesign on the machine you already own. You paste in your manuscript, apply the styles, and the design does what a designer would have done for you, page after page. Nothing phones home, nothing renews, and nothing decides anything about your book without you. If you want to change a font, widen a margin, or break a rule on purpose, you can. It is your book and your file.
That is the trade we have always offered, and it is why authors who care how their book is made keep choosing a template over a service. You are not buying a layout. You are buying a designer's decisions, and then making the book yourself.
We also run the other kind of shop. If you would rather not place a single chapter, our sister service BookDesigner.ai uses AI to format the whole book for you and shows you the finished proof before you pay. Same family, same care, a different amount of work on your desk. Pick the one that fits how you like to work.
